Practical tip for baby swimming

Swimming is great fun for the little ones. It’s healthy, too, since it promotes active fun and helps strengthen baby’s muscles. From the a safety standpoint alone, your child should get used to the water at an early age. There is no reason why babies aged around 6-8 weeks and over shouldn’t visit our swimming pool with its gently treated spring water. Start off with short times in the pool. From the age of 1, your child can spend longer playing in the water. Please do not take your child swimming if it has a cold or other infections.

For hygiene reasons, we ask that your baby wears swim nappies and, for safety reasons, a suitable swimming aid. Both are available from the Quellalpin lifeguard. You can bring your pushchair into the pool area with you so your toddler can rest undisturbed.
